Instead of getting married wearing a traditional, white wedding gown, she opted for a stunning black dress, while her husband, Jaryd, wore a maroon dinner jacket with a paisley shirt, black bow tie, and leather pants. The Cachias say that they did it for themselves, but Sophie is even more candid in her explanation:<br \/>\n\u201cThe first thing I must state is that my choice had NOTHING to do with the old \u2018white wedding dresses are for virgins,\u2019\u201d Cachia told Motherish. \u201cEvidently though, my 18-month-old son Bobby is proof that that boat sailed years ago. It looks good on just about everyone. It\u2019s bold, it\u2019s sexy, it\u2019s daring.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cMy now husband suggested I wear black when we first got engaged\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWe don\u2019t do anything by the book\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cWe didn\u2019t see the point in doing anything traditional because traditional simply isn\u2019t us\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cOur \u2018wedding\u2019 was simply a big party bash, where we served pizza and paella\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019ve been completely blown away by the positive response to my gown\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIf I cared about people\u2019s opinions and judgements, I wouldn\u2019t have made such a move in the first place\u201d<br \/>\nBut \u201cI didn\u2019t do it for anyone else but myself and Jaryd\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI simply see it as me wearing exactly what I wanted to on my wedding day, not what I thought I had to wear\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bride Breaks Tradition And Gets Married In Black Wedding Dress Australian blogger and loving mother Sophie Cachia decided to do something different for her wedding.
